this is the general chanarchive board for discussing everything related to the archive, like discussion around archived threads, feedback regarding the archive, suggestions for new features.
the backend of our boards have been written completely from scratch, therefore not all features are yet implemented. besides the obvious posting, quoting >>1 and greentexting you can also sage (sage goes in email field) and use normal tripcodes using a single #, e.g. herp#derp.

You should start fixing all these errors because the site is barely usable dude. Why would I use this site when it barely works? I mean it was great until post fetchers came out and that was in 2010. This site is like a three year old stinky corpse, it needs a big overhaul.

Its up to the admins to add new boards to the archive. You can email them or send them a message on the facebook page.
i see that there was a change made. i can understand that capsized may have drifted away a tad, and probably for good reason. this is what the site needs most likely. it's nice that everyone's still here and the archive is still hangin' on.
sometimes you have to bring new things into life. even if some of those things are very time consuming, which is my case. some of the best laughs/moments i've had was because of 4chan, but i needed a lot of time in order to enjoy it. i can't just quickly browse it and find something good. it's one of those things you just grow out of, i guess.
the rare time i go on 4chan i'm in the world cup threads on /vg/. if you wanna chat at me you can catch me there, but no promises that i'll reply.

4chanarchive had an.. i don't know, LIGHTER interface
didn't load so slowly or look so weird in comparison to chanarchive
don't understand why this site seems to claim itself as an all-chan archive (i.e. off to the right it says threads archived from 4chan and then nothing else, as if there's supposed to be space for other boards) when it has nothing but 4chan threads and is touted as the 4chan archive
while i can understand the need for a more easily optimized system i don't particularly see why it needed such a major and ugly overhaul in design
quality of archived threads also seemed to be much higher on 4chanarchive in comparison
It was the former owners idea. He had planned to expand it to other archives and implement a new array of features but it never happened sadly.
Reason for the overhaul was because the old design was held together with duct tape from my understanding and it would also cause a backlog of threads that had to be manually approved. The new system uses voting so it's largely up to user opinion as to what is archived, a lot gets deleted as well.
From what I've heard the new admins may be re-writing the site eventually.

Just wondering, it is possible to ban individual voters or archivers? Because a lot of TYFT and JB threads are being archived lately. And even though they are teenages, some preteen, that is still CP in many jurisdictions.
Sorry for the intermittent service guys. Our awesome host https://srsvps.com had a massive hardware failure which has caused the outages of the past week. They are not back up yet, but e rigged up something temporary to keep us up for now. Unfortunately it's not very stable. Hopefully everything will be stabilized soon.

I hope the board gets renamed to /fur/, and that's on a permanent basis.
It would get rid of that board, as well as slightly soothe the asstears of /b/tards and /v/irgins and finally provide an outlet for furry 4channers that isn't /b/.

I let the admins know already. You can try voicing your concerns on their facebook page. They seem to be most active there.
When I click on the xxx version of the site it logs me out. I click on regular again and I'm logged in again. >.<
If this is supposed to be an archive of what is on chans, why delete some of the threads? That defeats the point of archiving it in the first place.
