No. People like to pretend to care about things because it makes them feel better about themselves. Give it a day; they'll all go back to being their normal faggot selves.

I just finished watching Samurai Jack, and their new mascot came on and said something to the effect of "This was the last broadcast of Toonami. Hope you had fun."

I had no idea it was ending. At least it went out with a great show.

Fuck off, you underage niggers. I was fucking 9 when Toonami started, it's been like a brother to me. A brother that went down the wrong path later on in life and ended up becoming a prostitute and crack addict, but a brother regardless.

ITT: we now post walls of the great anime Toonami used to air, because the TOM walls posted here are the only ones in existence.

True, I haven't watched it in forever, and I rarely watch anything on CN these days anyway. Still though, it made me sad to see TOM's final goodbye, even if he did look like he was from that gayass Robots movie.

I suppose it's good they've let it go, though. CN has been growing more and more cancerous over the years and raping TOM in the ass, so he's probably happy to be let go.

>> HerrHATO !.5BD/wHb8k 9/21/08(Sun)21:55 < No.555095
Toonami was just the first of many instruments of corruption that would twist me into the unrecognizably horrid, cruel person I am today. All of the mindless garbage that alienated my friends and family with its gratuitous displays of cartoon violence and nonsense would only allow my mind to delve into a steep decline of sanity and reasoning that plagues me to this very day. All of the pain and tormenting by the same re-runs and filler episodes that only fueled my unending addiction to anime. All the suffering through 7 hours of school a day only to arrive home to be met with another 22 minutes of Goku charging his spirit bomb. Now with the programming block finally dead I can finally say...that out of all my childhood memories, locked away in the back of my thoughts, my memories of the cartoon network that was, before any of the faggottry of the 21st century, were some of the most pleasant. At least Turner Broadcasting had the decency to allow their abused programming block to die with a shred of it's former dignity. RIP Tom, may he never be subjected to such anal raping ever again.

I don't think I'd have loved the genre as much today if I hadn't watched Toonami back in the 90s. Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo, Blue Submarine no.6, Big O, Eva.. all the way back to when they showed Sailor Moon (because I couldn't find it on a normal station anymore.)

Toonami was the best thing to ever happen. Toonami introduced me to DBZ. DBZ introduced me to anime. Then there was Yu Yu Hakusho, Megas XLR, Samurai Jack. That was all the shit. To bad it went to hell. Cartoon Network is systematically killing all that is good and sacred. Adult Swim is slowly dying now to...

God, going through this thread has brought back some awesome memories. Gundam, Zoids, Tenchi, Ruroni Kenshin... ah nostalgia. And Cartoon Network has killed it. Fuck Cartoon Network.

im glad i saved this for fuckers like you

You ask us, "Why do you care?"

You tell us, "Every anime Toonami ever showed was terrible."

You call us underage. You call us 'dubfags'. You sage our threads. But why? Because you do not understand.

We care, because this was our childhood. We aren't children anymore, no. But we were, and we're young enough to be able to look back and remember.

We watched because it was awesome. When you're 12, men screaming at each other for 25 minutes straight is awesome. When you're 12, giant robots are incredible, no matter what the story behind them is. When you're 12, that ditzy chick that somehow magically undresses and dons a miniskirt is really fucking hot. When you're 12, watching hot, nubile women fight over a guy that has some kind of magic lightsaber thing that never works makes you feel funny. When you're 12, cartoons are great, and the ones from that place that makes sushi are even better.

When you're 30, you're old and bitter. When you're 20, you can remember. And when the things you remember cease to exist, you don't forget. You reminisce.

R.I.P. TOM. Nevar forget.

And they cancelled it because you stopped watching it. Hell, before this last weekend, you hadn't even thought about it in years.

Stop pretending to give a shit. You aren't fooling anyone.

I'm actually in the "I've already seen all of this stuff before" camp due to being in high school when CN tried (and suceeded) to make anime cool. I flipped past it a couple of times, and was never impressed.

And sure, maybe you did watch it religiously. However, you certainly don't speak for everyone. There is no way this many people cared about Toonami. If they did, it would still be on the air.
>> Anonymous 09/23/08(Tue)00:36 No.555979
>>555966

Your right that it doesn't speak for everyone, but It was a part of our childhood.

Grew up on Moltar and kept an eye on Toonami over the years hoping something good would appear. We've seen some of the greatest shows of all time like Ronin Warriors to crap like Wulan Warriors.

One thing I'm hoping for is for something like a Toonami channel they have plenty of shows plus they could always run some of the older Adult Swim programs for the evening.

Course thats just me.

Toonami died years ago. Pretty much the same time shitty namebranded anime became popular with kids. Yu Yu Hakusho, Evangelion, there was some other shit way back as well. I remember watching those at midnight and shit and loving it. Then id have friends around and they would be sitting there saying "what the fuck is this shit". Fuck i miss the days where decent anime could filter the fucktards.

but the fact that it was still around there was still that hope that it could be come something great again, now that its gone it seems whole lot less likely
