I love these pictures of people and all the food they have in a week.

Does anyone have any more? doesn't necessarily need to be a the food consumed in a week, it could be a month/year/whatever. And it doesn't have to be some exotic foreign family

I just want pictures of people standing by what they will eat in a set amount of time.

I live in NC, in an area where living costs and taxes are high, and wages are low. I hate these kind of stupid comparisons. Look at this modified pic. 350/ week for a family of four?Thats 1400 per month. Well yeah, If you choose to eat two take out pizzas and fast food, chinesse take out, 3-4 12 packs of soda and bottles of soft drinks, 3-4 jugs of fruit drink, 4 big bags of chips, and buy name brand pasta and other sauces, not to mention bottled water. Most families of 4 I know, white black, or other, rich or poor, live on 450 or less per month. The other pics are the same.
>> Anonymous 12/07/11(Wed)22:06 No.3268957
Europeans may have forgotten, but their love for sparkling waters comes from a tradition distrust of the natural water supply especially through taps. Carbonated water was an early purification method.

It was something that's been passed on so much that people don't even think about it anymore.

Family of four. $342 weekly. That's excessive.

Well, there's the problem. You're not counting money you spent in the past. that food laid out in OP's picture is all the food they ate that week, and that dollar amount it what all that food costs. They didn't necessarily spend $342 on food that week - lots of it could have been purchased in the past - but they did eat $342 worth of food.

It's cheap because of the sorts of foods we eat. I grew up in a multicultural background and eat the foods from those cultures. Most of them are stews and stir-fries and are generally fairly cheap to make. If I cook a stew for dinner, we always have at least another four servings left afterwards and it costs about $2-4USD for the pot. Our stews are based on beans, legumes and pulses, mostly, or potatoes, all of which are cheap, filling and delicious. One of my favourites is butter lentil chicken stew which I posted on another board recently. I'd be happy to post the guidelines (no recipe, sadly, since I don't really measure anything) if you'd like.

Also,

I guess so.

Though this is kinda ironic when you consider that the families with the least money for food will get to keep the least food.

What would be interesting though would be if the family from Chad would get the food from an American or the German family.

God fucking damnit, look at their fine table. Look how much those Germans have compared to the other families, even compared to other 1st world countries. Then look at this shitty, unthankful asshole calling himself "son". Fuck, look at his father smiling and the pride he shows, while holding his brat, which can't be even bothered to smile for one picture. He probably was all like "NEIN! I will not laugh becauze I am unhappy wiz mai life IT IZ ZO TERRIBEL! YOU DON'T UNDERZTEND ME UND MAI PROBLEMZ!"

maybe he isn't contrasting what he has with subhumans elsewhere, but what he doesn't have compared to the likes of Justin Bieber or P Diddy..true wealth.

A few 20 extra juice cartons aren't going to fill up that void.

Knowing you won't be rolling in a rolls royce and have castles in islands unless you work for it..that you're just a pleb with a few little extras.

You're just mad jelly. The family is wealthy enough to afford all these things, self-absorbedness included.

To be honest, if I got dragged into some ass-backwards survey like this for the sake of amerifats to be able to feel even more guilty over their eating habits without doing anything about it, I'd be less likely to smile as well. Fucking fat people, they aren't entitled to my smile.

One thing that's interesting is how soda is enjoyed pretty much everywhere.

Also I never got what the point of this project was. Usually when I think about it though I just think about how the public at large in the US really sucks at grocery shopping.
