Applique/gothic artist here!

The originals were done at 300dpi and the same size I posted them at. I've taken similar size images to printers before and they've come out okay, so t-shirts should be alright. I couldn't tell you about the prints though.

>>4254040 Excuse me if you think I sound patronising, I'm just trying to help. You know simply resizing it doesn't work? It will have to be drawn at a large scale to be a crisp, clean print.. You can size something down, but not up.

No, not patronizing at all. You just want to make sure some random anon isn't being an asshat about resolution.
I'm not sizing anything up aside from the length of the canvas because standard fabric is generally 45" to 56" wide. Spoonflower varies depending on which fabric you choose.
They make you order swatches before selling any of it. So I'll be double checking to make sure it prints right.

Well, I haven't actually had anything to do with the production side of anything, but the lines I posted along with the rainbow coloured version (the one with shading and shit) are posted the exact same size they were made at. If someone uses those or any recolours they'd get the exact same results I would with the originals.

Working on a scatter print for a tote!

I have no idea about the sizing needed for this though - more specifically if the background bits should be all-over or just in the middle and fade out. In the case of it being an all-over print, I'm not exactly sure how to do that. If someone knows anything about that I'd be glad to hear your input.

Before fabric can be bought off Spoonflower it has to have a swatch ordered by the uploader.
Generally swatches cost $5 each or 1-5 designs is $12, 6-15 designs is $20, and up to 30 is $35
Swatches take 11 days to make.

Previous thread a few anons said they would be happy to chip in a couple dollars to help with the cost if we ended up with a lot of designs.

I think once we have 15 colorways (9 are up now) and the gothics finalize their designs we can go forward with collecting for the swatches.

The goose is like, at least as derpy as the horse. It was my first time making a plush, and the first sewing project with a pattern I've done in like, 12 years. I cut all the fabric pieces a little bigger than the pattern, so when I put the head together, the beak like, points the wrong way, so it always looks really pissed off (which is actually how they normally look but that's besides the point.)

I am loving this networking ladies. We definitely need a list for the approved sellers and a communal Etsy shop for Derpy-chan goods. What kind of accessories would you ladies like? I don't have any lolita or lolible patterns of clothers, but being a cosplayer I know how to make a detachable bow and I'm pretty good at hand sewing and using hotglue if I need to be. I'm also pretty good at embroidery and jewerly making, if that sparks any imaginations.

Yes. She is aware of the derpy-chan movement and has given her seal of approval. If you read the thread, you'll see that everyone has been making an effort to make sure this is "open source" and that everyone involved with the creative process is getting credit and the honor system is in place for no one to profit, except possibly japan.

Hi there, Yes they do, I am Amenoo and they have credited me ^^ I'm totally Ok with this as long as people do this for their own personal use. I love the idea of Derpy chan clothes ^^
Though I don't want people to mass produce stuff with derpy chan to make profit out of it, but for personal use, GO for it :D
>> Anonymous 03/18/11(Fri)17:07 No.4254607
I would buy.

I am the original creator of Derpy chan, and I make absolutely no profit out of this. I have given my approval for anyone to make something out of derpy chan for personal use, and if anybody makes profit from derpy chan, I would definitely want this money to be donated for charity

So just to clarify, you are okay with an etsy shop etc. so long as all proceeds go to charity, yes?

I just want to say you're awesome for being such a good sport. We love derpy-chan because he is, truly, the essence of lolita. We all take ourselves so seriously that sometimes we need a little derp in our lives to remind us that we're just a bunch of people who like to wear frilly dresses, with emphasis on the "just people".

I love derpy-chan.

Yes I am, because everybody can't sew, and if you want a derpy-chan print, you should be able to get it ^^ As long as they don't make profit out of it

Though I am not the maker of the print, so they must say their opinion too :)

What do you mean by profit? Say someone commission me to make a dress with Derpy-chan fabric, and it took 15 hours of my time. Can I charge money for my labour?
>> Anonymous 03/18/11(Fri)17:43 No.4254706
>>4254695
Yes you can do, because then you charge for work

But not like you make like 20 dresses and sell them for high price. Not to make the stuff just for making money
>> Anonymous 03/18/11(Fri)17:48 No.4254720
>>4254706
So we can charge to cover our costs, and give any profit off the top to charity?

Exactly. :)

Myself, I can't sew, so I'm commissioning a seamstress to make a JSK for me, and she is only charging for her work.

I wonder how many derpy-chan secrets there will be this weekend

I think I've figured out a way to keep everyone honest about proceeds. I'm assuming that in the price of the items, listing fees and actual cost of the product and supplies are going to be covered.
Every time someone lists a Derpy-Chan product, it is first posted on the LJ or tumblr site. Once approved, the receipts are then shown for the supplies, and averages are made out ($40 for supplies/10 shirts = $4 a shirt). After the sale of the product, the person then shows some proof of only being reimbursed for their supplies and fees (ebay, etsy, paypal...etc.) and the rest is then donated to the RC or whatever charity.

Sorry if this sounds a bit scattered. I hate typing on this tiny laptop. lol

I'd be best to charge yourself minimum wage or the lowest you'd be able to go, since we're doing this for charity. Think of it like volunteer work. The buyer donates their money, you donate your time. Obviously, that's an arraignment for an ideal world, but in a derpy world anything is possible.

When I've made a tester I'll post it on /cgl/ for opinions, give me 3-4 days, it could be a bit sooner it really depends on how much time my boyfriend can put into it this weekend. Every derpy-chan t-shirt will be made with extra love. <3

So...

Has anyone heard yet if the fabrics that got put up on Spoon Flower will be fixed to be doubled?
Cause I'd really love to know if the print is gonna get mirrored :c
